Trevor Johnson
Trevor Johnson, the Assistant Principal Oboe occupying the Edgar J. Hinson III Chair, has been a member of the Louisville Orchestra since 1995. Originally from Bettendorf, Iowa and Camden, Maine; Mr. Johnson attended the University of Iowa and the Hartt School where he studied Music Performance and Music Education, respectively. He cites Humbert Lucarelli and Mark Weiger as some of his influential private teachers.
In his free time he enjoys commercial aviation and listening to his favorite musicians; Michael Bublé and Maureen McGovern. Mr. Johnson believes the most interesting aspect of being a musician is the “Changing repertoire and visiting artists” and he especially enjoys playing and listening to music of Samuel Barber and Johannes Brahms. His piece of advice for young musicians is to “Practice and listen!”
