The Louisville Orchestra’s community mission is to generate change through the transformative power of music. Music Director Teddy Abrams, the LO musicians, Board, and administration are dedicated to presenting orchestra performances to audiences of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

Community Partnerships & Visits

The LO partners with a variety of community, health, and education organizations to bring the joy of music into the lives of people throughout Kentuckiana. These partnerships include visits and performances by LO musicians, Teddy Abrams, chamber ensembles, and special concert series guests.

Heuser Hearing & Language Academy Partnership

With support from the William M. Wood Foundation, the LO continues our long-standing partnership with the Heuser Hearing & Language Academy. In collaboration with the HHLA music therapist, LO musicians visit the school throughout the year to interact through music with preschool/kindergarten students affected by hearing, speech, and language challenges. Selected by the prestigious Ford Foundation Musician Award for Excellence in Community Service, this partnership has changed the lives of children and families for more than a decade.  Link to video
