Louisville Broadcast Audience Experience Information
Lisa Bielawa, LO Creators Corps Composer
Presented by the Louisville Orchestra
Sunday, April 23:
11:30 AM: Shelby Park
7:00 PM: Big Four Bridge
What to Expect
We invite you to join us as an active audience member for the Louisville Broadcast. When you arrive, you are welcome to view the performance from any vantage point. This is a public event and free for all to attend. Seating is not provided and audience members are encouraged to roam the sites and seek different vantage points to enjoy the performance organically. Every audience member will have a different experience; the music will sound different depending on where you stand and move.
Feel free to interact and socialize with your fellow audience members. There’s no right or wrong way to experience the event!
Who Should Attend?
We encourage people of all ages to attend! This will be a rich experience for all who want to take part.
Security
Security will be present at both events, as the safety of our patrons and participants is our utmost priority.
What to Wear
Please dress comfortably and check the weather beforehand to ensure you will be warm enough at the event sites.
Parking
Parking at both sites will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. We recommend arriving early! For Shelby Park, anticipate street parking only. Several lots are near and around the Big Four Bridge and street parking is also available.
Accessibility
Both venues (Big Four Bridge and Shelby Park) are accessible for wheelchairs and walkers but there is an incline at the bridge. If you are not familiar with the sites, please view details here and here.
If you need assistance with hearing or vision loss and/or other accessibility needs, please plan accordingly. We appreciate your understanding, in advance.
Restrooms
Public restrooms are available near the picnic tables at Shelby Park and in the Red parking lot and Adventure Playground at the Big Four Bridge.
Food and Drink
Feel free to bring food and water to the event. These will not be provided. Please help us reduce our park footprint by throwing away or carrying out all trash.
Inclement Weather
In case of rain, we will reschedule the event for Sunday, April 30. The times of both performances will remain the same: 11:30 AM at Shelby Park and 7:00 PM at the Big Four Bridge.
What if I need help?
During Louisville Broadcast, Louisville Orchestra staff and volunteers will be stationed throughout. Look for people wearing buttons. They are happy to answer questions or provide help during the event.
If you have additional questions, please contact Jacob Gotlib, LO Creators Corps Program Manager, at jgotlib@louisvilleorchestra.org
