AUDITION FAQs
a) What materials must I submit to apply for an audition?
To apply for a posted audition, you must complete and submit the online application (found within the Initial Letter) and mail your $100 audition deposit. Checks will be returned only to those who attend the audition, do not receive an official invitation, or cancel their audition prior to the deadline.
Your application and resume must be submitted via the online form, while your deposit check must be mailed. All materials must be received (or postmarked) by the deadline for your application to be considered.
b) What information needs to be on my resume?
Your resume should include your name, instrument(s), complete contact information (including email and mailing address), and any relevant work experience and/or education, including dates.
Please limit your resume to one page.
c) Do I need to submit a recording?
No recording submission is needed. All preliminary auditions will take place in-person.
d) When will I receive further information?
You will receive confirmation of receipt of your application materials via email as soon as your deposit arrives. You can expect to receive notice of your invitation status and audition time within two weeks of the application deadline. Feel free to follow up via email if you have not heard from us within this period.
e) What if I miss a deadline?
Unfortunately, if you miss the deadline, we can’t accept your materials. If there are extenuating circumstances, an exception may be made, but this is not typically the case.
a) How do I get the repertoire list?
The repertoire list will be posted above next to the associated audition as soon as it is available.
b) Does the LO provide copies of the required repertoire?
A complete excerpt packet will be provided via email as soon as it is compiled by our Librarian. If we need to obtain pieces under copyright protection, the excerpt packet will take longer to complete. Your patience is appreciated! The preliminary round excerpt list will be provided upon your registration at the audition site.
c) Can I use my own music on the day of the audition?
Yes, absolutely! Music will be provided on-site, but feel free to use your own copy of the excerpts. iPads are also acceptable.
