The Louisville Orchestra has long had a strong reputation for innovation, creativity, and excellence. With an annual operating budget of $10M, 58 full-time musicians, and a 34-week performance season, it is currently an organization that is changing the very idea of what a 21st century orchestra can be and do. Job Summary:   The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing plans under the strategic leadership of the Director of Marketing. This individual will manage all advertising and marketing needs to ensure a successful event for our audiences including media buying, operational setup, promotional coordination.

You are an excellent communicator and maintain strong professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You have a keen attention to detail, and are adept at balancing multiple projects at the same time. You are a self-starter, and you see things through to completion – no job is too big or too small. You are passionate about music and being part of a team that connects patrons to the music they love.

Main Areas of Ownership 

  • Paid and Organic Marketing Plan and Execution
  • Creative organization of promotional materials including print and digital
  • Lead marketing plan for Education events in the community
  • Own digital marketing strategy and digital marketing ecosystem including email and social
  • Own patron on site and event experience developing new creative engagement opportunities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the key internal contact with various stakeholders to prepare, present and execute marketing and promotional campaigns for concerts and events
  • Partner with the local operations and production teams to manage the success across multiple venues
  • Develop impactful promotions for Education and Development Departments
  • Compile and share extensive audience and artist demographic information to shape development of marketing plans
  • Identify and activate new strategic marketing partners to enhance artist and brand exposure in the community
  • Manage concert marketing budget and compile marketing settlement documents
  • Work with internal stakeholders to provide post show marketing analytics recaps
  • Manage internship program and coordinate day-day responsibilities for interns
  • Collaborate with Communication and Content Manager to ensure consistent messaging for all brand and program promotions.
  • Be a steward of brand collateral ensuring consistent branding across all external facing materials and be responsible for the creation of any digital and print assets needed for communication across departments.
  • Effectively use marketing tools to increase awareness on socials, in emails, on websites and in venue including:
    • Coordinate street team and grassroots marketing efforts with local market contacts
    • Update LO website and Facebook events and maintain quality control
    • Execute fan communication plans to ensure key information reaches guests via email, social, website and app – ongoing, announce, presale, on sale
    • Create and manage venue level creative assets for onsite & digital needs
    • Coordinate approvals and execution of promotional sweepstakes
    • Coordinate onsite activations to help drive name acquisition for future show marketing needs as well as coordinate onsite coverage for day of show marketing needs supporting radio partners, meet and greets, press photographers
  • Day of show event coverage as necessary

Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar fields Required

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3+ years prior experience in event marketing within an entertainment, sports or public assembly facility setting
  • Minimum of 3+ years prior media buying experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years prior experience with non-profit organizations
  • Ability to work with creative platforms including Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.
  • Deep interest in discovering new music and marketing a wide variety of genres and emerging artists
  • Ability to work day, evening and weekend hours, based on the needs of daily business operations
  • Ability to work in a very busy, high-pressure, team setting
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite skills, Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and multimedia management software
  • Knowledge of Classical music or performing arts is preferred.
