LOCC News: Baldwin Giang & Louisville Pride Collaboration

The Louisville Orchestra Creators Corps is a groundbreaking initiative that brings composers to Louisville for year-long residencies, allowing them to create and share new music in direct collaboration with the community. For the 2024-2025 season, Baldwin Giang, an acclaimed composer and multimedia artist, will partner with the Louisville Pride Foundation to explore the power of intergenerational storytelling through music.

This unique collaboration invites LGBTQ+ individuals from different generations to share messages they believe are essential for each other to hear. These personal reflections will be transformed into original musical compositions, guided by Giang and performed by Louisville Orchestra musicians.

As part of this project, Louisville Pride Songwriting Workshops will provide a free opportunity for participants to explore their creative voice in a supportive, collaborative space. Participants will engage in group discussions, one-on-one sessions, and rehearsals, culminating in a final public performance on June 20, 2025.
