Event Description

On-Demand WED 2 DEC

Is there any music more “American” than Soul? Born of the songs of enslaved people, from Southern churches and street corners, “soul” music brought the world rhythm & blues, funk, do-wop, rock-n-roll, blues, and jazz — influencing every musician in our country for generations. Teddy Abrams and the LO pay tribute to the music that is the foundation of all contemporary music.

FREE on-demand video is available through 31 DEC 2020. Create your account to get the Louisville Orchestra Virtual Edition.

At an early age Clayborn was singing and playing drums in the local church and in the National Convention of Gospels Choirs and Choruses (NCGCC). He was nominated for three Gospel Music Association awards, and a Stellar Award. Clayborn composed hit songs including: “I Worship You” for VaShawn Mitchell, “Get Me Thru” for Wess Morgan, “I Survived It” for Ricky Dillard, and “Better” for Hezekiah Walker which peaked at number one on the Billboard charts and garnered nominations for a Dove Award (Won), Stellar Award, Soultrain Award, Billboard Award, and a Grammy Award. Clayborn founded The Atmosphere Changers a gospel music choir comprised of young adults who recently performed at the 100th Anniversary of the Metro United Way. In 2019, Clayborn rejoined the Tyscot Records with The Atmosphere Changers slated to release an album.
