Yo-Yo Ma with Teddy Abrams and the Louisville Orchestra Gala with Concert

Thursday, April 27, 2023 5:30pm

Event Description

Yo-Yo Ma with Teddy Abrams & The Louisville Orchestra

Join us as Yo-Yo Ma displays his virtuosity alongside Teddy Abrams and the Louisville Orchestra in a single performance of Shostakovich’s virtuosic Cello Concerto No. 1 along with excerpts of a new work written by Abrams for Yo-Yo Ma and inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave. Yo-Yo Ma’s time in Louisville will explore the profound connections between music, community, and nature, highlighting the peoples and stories that bind them together and the inherent responsibility we must preserve and extend both.

This is sure to be an unforgettable evening.
