25 APR 2020 :: Composed by Rachel Grimes, Angélica Negrón, Shara Nova, Caroline Shaw, and Sarah Kirkland Snider on a text by American poet Carolyn Forché, The Blue Hour seeks the precious individual in the rush of the difficulties of life on our Earth.
Béla Bartók’s massive Concerto For Orchestra is his last completed work and is a wondrous celebration of life that vibrantly showcases various instruments and instrument groups from start to finish. The Hungarian composer wrote this showpiece for orchestra that spins with folk tunes, humor, and brilliant musical color. It’s a virtuoso work to close the 2019-2020 Season.
