Position Title:                    Marketing Manager
Status:                               Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to:                        Director of Marketing

Job Summary:                   The Marketing Manager develops and executes marketing strategies ensuring the success and revenue generation process for the LO by working under the direction of the Director of Marketing by publishing or distributing marketing initiatives to the public via media, advertising, and digital channels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Include but not limited to:

  • Create a sales/marketing plan for all products in consultation with the Director of Marketing
  • Act as the media buying liaison for all outlets including digital, broadcast, print, and direct mail
  • Secure and manage media sponsorships and in-kind support.
  • Implement and manage all tactics of single-ticket and subscription marketing plans across all product lines.
  • Oversee conception and production of all single-ticket and subscription marketing materials including brochures, advertisements (print, broadcast and digital), posters and other.
  • Project manage marketing initiatives and ensure all are timely and on-budget.
  • Submit all marketing invoices to finance dept. Track the marketing budget and update Director on available resources.
  • Serve as editor for the compilation and production of monthly concert program book.
  • Perform a wide variety of editing, proofreading, and graphic design support duties.
  • Oversee the creation of audio and audio-video commercials.
  • Optimize SEO and assist the team in improving standards to maintain and enhance website ranking.
  • Direct customer research and satisfaction surveying in cooperation with the Patron Services staff.
  • Attend concerts and events as a representative of the LO
  • Serves as an active, collaborative, and resourceful member of the Marketing Team.

Administrative and Operational Support

  • Participate in weekly marketing and communications, all-team, and active projects meetings
  • Ensure the timely submission of expenses and invoices.
  • Embrace other administrative and operational support responsibilities as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the processes placing and managing digital advertising on Facebook and Google Ads including targeting, budgets, tags, conversions, and re-targeting.
  • Knowledge of the processes of negotiating, placing, and managing traditional advertising through radio, television, and print media.
  • Knowledge of the processes of mail merge, master file maintenance, database management, USPS presort, applied data hygiene, list targeting and procurement
  • Knowledge of the processes of print production
  • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated; creativity and problem-solving ability a must.
  • Experience marketing events to increase ticket sales and maximize revenue
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from manager, clients, customers, vendors and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures to manage a budget
  • Ability to apply high-level reasoning skills including defining problems, data collection, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Attention to detail, including excellent proofreading skills
  • Schedule flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends for concerts is required
  • Knowledge of orchestra and performing arts is a plus
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive
  • Physically able to lift 25lbs. unassisted
  • Must have a positive attitude, be able to work as part of a high-functioning team in a fast-paced environment, and possess a passion for performing as well as a strong desire to bring them to audiences.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Arts Administration or related degree
  • 3 – 5 years experience in the marketing initiative arena
  • Performing arts experience (student, amateur or professional) is a plus
