In Harmony

The Commonwealth Tour

Connecting Kentucky Through Music

A statewide initiative delivering free performances, school visits, and community partnerships across the Commonwealth.

The Louisville Orchestra’s In Harmony Tour brings world-class orchestral music directly to communities across the Commonwealth. Through free public performances, educational programs, and partnerships with local organizations, the tour connects Kentuckians of all ages with the power of live music.

Supported by the Kentucky General Assembly, the initiative represents one of the largest statewide investments in the arts in Kentucky’s history. Since launching in 2022, the tour has expanded access to orchestral music, strengthened community connections, and demonstrated the cultural and economic value of the arts throughout the state.

Why the In Harmony Tour Matters

The In Harmony Tour brings the Louisville Orchestra beyond the concert hall and into communities across Kentucky, creating access to live orchestral music in places where residents can gather, connect, and participate, free of charge.

Supported by the Kentucky General Assembly, the tour is designed to ensure that the value of the Louisville Orchestra is felt statewide, not only in Louisville. Through public performances, educational visits, and partnerships with local organizations, the In Harmony Tour strengthens community life, expands access to the arts, and creates visible public benefit across the Commonwealth.

This is more than a tour. It is a statewide commitment to cultural access, local partnership, and shared Kentucky pride.

Expanding Cultural Access

For many audiences, the In Harmony Tour provides their first opportunity to experience a live orchestra. By performing in parks, community centers, libraries, schools, and public gathering spaces, the program removes barriers to participation and welcomes audiences of all backgrounds.

Strengthening Local Communities

Each tour stop is developed in collaboration with local partners, including arts organizations, educators, civic leaders, and community groups. These partnerships ensure that the performances reflect and celebrate the unique identity of each community.

Supporting Education

In addition to public concerts, the tour includes school visits, workshops, and educational activities that introduce students to orchestral music and the musicians who perform it. These programs help inspire the next generation of artists, audiences, and creative thinkers.

Building Kentucky’s Cultural Identity

The In Harmony Tour showcases Kentucky as a state that values artistic innovation and cultural engagement. By connecting communities across the Commonwealth through shared musical experiences, the initiative strengthens Kentucky’s cultural landscape and national reputation.

Across the Commonwealth

The In Harmony Tour has visited communities across Kentucky, from Western Kentucky to the Appalachian region.

Each stop reflects a simple idea, Kentucky deserves access to extraordinary cultural experiences in every region of the Commonwealth. By traveling statewide and partnering locally, the Louisville Orchestra is creating a broader, more connected cultural footprint for Kentucky.
